SUMA Social Marketing, Inc., worked with the Utah Department of Health to create an award winning preconception health campaign. The Power Your Life Campaign won the 2011 American Maternal and Child Health Association’s Emerging Best Practice Award for especially innovative, emerging, promising and best Maternal and Child Health practices. SUMA conducted extensive formative research to inform the creation of the campaign. Power Your Life targeted young women, with an emphasis on minority and low-income populations, and reached them with educational and motivational messages through a variety of media sources and grassroots efforts. SUMA also worked with providers and created materials and organized a continuing educational event with nationally recognized experts. This campaign highlights SUMA’s comprehensive research expertise, ability to form productive and meaningful partnerships with local stakeholders, as well as our creative processes.
